Claims Administrative Assistant

Job Summary:   

The Claims Administrative Assistant will provide support to the Specialty Lines Claims Group for multi-line processes.  The successful candidate will provide new claims triage, file assignments and claims system set-up; post recoveries on appropriate claim files.  Working with Analysts to provide correspondence support, template letters, document filing, track, coordinate and compile weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to claims management.  As well, prepare files for litigation, including, the collection, listing and submission of affidavits of documents.  Process claim transactions, maintain files including filing both paper and electronic filing analysis.  Gather and maintain claims statistics for reporting purposes.  Other administrative duties assigned by the Claims Management team. 

Qualifications:            

College diploma or University Degree or equivalent
Legal Clerical experience and/or a claims background is an asset
Proficient with MS Office suite of products
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work independently, prioritize and focus tasks
Attention to detail is essential
Ability to work well within a team
